Working for the last two years with Black & White, I have been involved in a wide range of projects that have enhanced my ability to consider projects from different points-of-view within the Design team. At Black & White, we embrace the team spirit, and we continuously support each other, which gives us the opportunity for career growth. Black & White’s culture and focus on the importance of diversity and inclusion have supported me to be able to combine motherhood with a very demanding role.
Villy Maliaka
Associate Director, Dubai
At Black & White, I really enjoy the non-corporate, engineering-focused approach to delivery. Our culture and behaviours prioritise the client, our projects, and our employees first, which particularly resonate with me. As part of a private, employee-owned business, I find it highly motivating to know hard work and commitment to our clients are recognised and rewarded. Our drive and motivation to succeed do not only benefit our clients through our output, but these also allow employees to be key performers to the progressive growth of the organisation, which is really satisfying.

Associate Director, London
Setting up a new business in Scotland has been an exciting journey despite the challenges of local brand recognition and recruitment. It is testament to our one global team, international projects, and collaborative learning culture that our Edinburgh office recorded a successful first year's revenue. This is helped by our Global Design Hub business model, as the standard of product is consistent despite new employees onboarding. We continue to gain increasing recognition within the local market, as word spreads that Black & White offers something different to the other consultants in the region.
Grant Dalgleish
Technical Director, Edinburgh
Since joining Black & White, I have been given the exposure and opportunity to work on a range of different projects where I have grown and developed my skills. The whole team have been approachable and very supportive. I feel happy and proud to work at Black & White.

Mechanical Engineer, London
Black & White encourages growth and the company takes employee feedback seriously. The opportunity to collaborate with various disciplines across the globe has allowed me to broaden my horizons and further my skills and understanding of my trade.
Eduardo Golloy Jr.
Building Physics Engineer, Manila
It is a great honour for me to be employed for the last 15 years by one of the leading MEP Design Consultancies that was launched just the year prior to my joining. Although Black & White operates and employs many people in different countries and different cultures, we are proud to operate together as one global team. Our processes and way of thinking when working on projects are the same no matter where we are based. I feel this one global team culture is one of Black & White’s strongest assets and it is the reason why so many of my colleagues are also very loyal to the company. I am still looking forward to many more years of service with Black & White which have honed my abilities and brought out the best in me.
Rona Serna
Assistant Manager, Dubai
There are many reasons I have been part of Black & White for the last 15 years. I have had the privilege to lead many great teams on a wide range of projects. I have worked on construction sites in just about every sector. I have worked in many countries with new challenges every time.
My role allows me to influence designs and develop them onsite, and to be there at the end to get the satisfaction of seeing a building come to life after months of design and construction.
The company is growing rapidly, and I am proud to have been there from the foundations, having worked with so many brilliant people I consider my extended family. I know there are more opportunities, challenges, and adventures to come.
Jonathan Mitchell
Associate Director, Manchester
Black & White has been an outstanding employer in terms of supporting me during all three of my pregnancies – allowing me significantly for more maternity leaves than the statutory provision in Dubai, while enabling a smooth transition returning to work and affording me the on-the-job experiences and responsibility necessary to allow my career to progress. More recently, upon returning to the UK, Black & White was happy to give me the flexibility of working part-time from home, with no impact on my role and responsibilities, allowing me to maintain a good work/life balance.
Aurore Knight
Principal Mechanical Engineer, Edinburgh
The culture at Black & White is like nothing I’ve experienced before. I felt fully supported as I went on my maternity leave and being the first “returner” has been a really positive experience for me. Inclusive and accommodating, the culture enables me to give my best to Black & White and our clients.
