About the role

Black & White Engineering is a multi-award-winning engineering consultancy, with nearly 600 employees in teams based in our UK, European, Middle East and Asia Pacific offices. We have been providing a wide range of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) engineering consultancy services since 2007 and are now expanding our Civil and Structural Engineering division.

Our engineering expertise reaches across all sectors of the construction industry, providing pragmatic and practical design solutions to ensure our projects are spatially and operationally efficient. Our design process fully considers the installation and maintenance practicalities on site.

Due to the continued growth and expansion of our Lead Design Consulting (LDC) team, we are looking to recruit an Assistant Design Manager for our Manila office. This role will primarily support regional offices in the management and delivery of design projects across EMEA and APAC. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with regional design managers, technical experts, and partners, contributing to our goal of being one of the best lead design consultant in the data center market.

Reporting to the Manila Lead Design Manager, this role involves managing project requirements to ensure excellent client service and supporting the ongoing growth of our business with robust technical, design, and contract management expertise.

Responsibilities
  • Support the successful delivery of design projects by assisting tasked concerning with project management, financial management, QA/QC and technical review standards.
  • Assist in understanding the design project requirements, business drivers, processes, and tools to ensure alignment.
  • Provide support in coordinating with stakeholders to foster collaboration and meet project needs.
  • Work efficiently and remotely with regional design project teams working across multiple time zones.
  • Assist in preparing and updating the design project schedule and tracking the deliverables and milestones.
  • Monitor project progress by gathering updates from stakeholders.
  • Help prepare clear and concise project performance reports for management, clients, or other stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records and reports of project activities and decisions.
  • Assist in identifying potential risks and support the development and implementation of mitigation plans.
  • Assist in facilitating regular client meetings and internal team meetings to ensure effective communication and alignment.
  • Contribute to day-to-day decision-making by providing input and assistance on project progress.
  • Maintain a basic understanding of BIM processes and management to assist in coordination.
  • Assist in facilitating meeting with clients and internal teams.
Requirements
  • Possess 4–7 years of work experience in design consultancy and/or construction project management, with at least 2 years of in project management or handling projects.
  • Experience in mission-critical, or specifically data centres or complex, engineering-led assets, is advantageous
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suit, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Project or other scheduling and program management software is advantageous
  • Proven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Exhibit exceptional communication skills with a strong command of spoken and written English
  • Demonstrable skills in maintaining and developing professional relationships with stakeholders.
  • Maintain and adhere to company QSE procedures consistently
  • Possess cultural awareness and ability to embrace and respect diversity
  • Thrive in a highly collaborative work environment, with the ability to report and engage daily with stakeholders. of tools including IESVE, Rhino, Grasshopper
Qualifications
  • Must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or equivalent field, with a professional license.
