John Murphy

John is a Chartered Electrical Engineer with over 20 years experience in design consultancy and client side roles. John has experience in many sectors having worked on projects varying from commercial offices, data centres (hyperscale and colo), mixed use developments, financial/banking frameworks and more recently nuclear sector.

John has been the lead electrical engineer for several hyperscale and colo data centres ranging in size from 1MW IT – 6OMWIT. In client-side John worked for one of the largest data centre colo providers in Europe developing concepts as well as managing design teams to ensure successful delivery of projects. Johns also has experience from the nuclear sector, where he was working as a Project Engineer for the client’s utility team. In this role he was managing and coordinating several contractors who were providing EPC(engineering, procurement & construction) services, in Nuclear and Conventional areas to guarantee safe delivery and completion of the plant.

John is motivated by delivering technically focused solutions that align to and often exceed client requirements and expectations.

James Reilly

With over 30 years of experience, James specialises in building services for healthcare engineering systems. He has contributed to the design of some of Ireland’s largest healthcare facilities, implementing innovative solutions for modern medical environments.

James leads a skilled team dedicated to delivering complex projects with a focus on quality, budget control, and timely completion. He creates innovative environments that enhance healthcare delivery and improve patient outcomes.

Gerard Keating

Gerard is a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of CIBSE, IHEEM, and ACEI, with over 35 years of experience in the design and management of acute healthcare facilities, large-scale building services, industrial developments, and mission-critical projects.

In recent years, Gerard has played a key role in mission-critical projects, delivering solutions through RIBA Stages 1–5 for developments in Ireland, as well as contributing to reference designs across APAC and EMEA. His experience includes securing planning permissions at Stage 1 for multiple IT facilities.

Gerard specializes in client-facing project delivery and is accredited as an Accredited Tier Designer (ATD) by the Uptime Institute.

In recognition of his contributions to the industry, Gerard was awarded the CIBSE Bronze Medal in 2013 for services to the building services profession and to the Institution in Ireland.

He has also held several academic and professional roles with TU Dublin, including Lecturer, External Examiner, and currently as a member of the Industry Liaison Group. Additionally, Gerard supports professional development within the engineering community as a membership interviewer for Engineers Ireland.

Gerard manages CPD activities for the Electrical Department, ensuring design standards and principles remain at the forefront of industry practice.

Outside of work, Gerard is an avid golfer and can often be found on the links at weekends.
