John Tremble, Head of Site Services – Germany, Frankfurt

John Tremble is our inaugural team member in Frankfurt. He brings a wealth of expertise in electrical installations and inspections, having embarked on his professional journey as an Apprentice Electrician and progressively advancing to roles like Electrical Package Manager.

Over the last seven years, John has displayed dedication to data centre projects in both the UK and Germany. His commitment to excellence is evident in the successful completion of numerous projects. At Black & White, John’s mission is to further his dedication by nurturing the development of a highly proficient and streamlined site team, all based out of our Frankfurt office. His experience and passion for the data centre sector make him an invaluable addition to our team and a driving force behind our commitment to delivering exceptional services in the region.

Simon Rae, Associate Director, Edinburgh

Simon has over 20 years of experience in the building services industry, spanning various sectors including defense, power, public, retail, education, leisure, industrial, commercial, and healthcare. He now contributes his expertise in litigation work and forensic engineering to Black & White. This includes technical analysis of electrical engineering designs, defect investigation, identification of compliance breaches, and providing expert opinions on disputes across diverse industry sectors, in support of the legal profession.

Throughout his career, Simon has emphasised the necessity of verifying electrical designs to ensure compliance, adherence to best practices, and a focus on safety. Leveraging his experience in scrutinising calculation results from low-voltage electrical distribution calculation software, Simon is poised to lead the team in delivering projects within the constraints of client programmes while maintaining quality assurance and achieving client satisfaction.

Martin Winter, Technical Director, Dubai

With background encompassing design management for quality control and creating clear, coordinated work packages, Martin brings 30 years of hands-on design experience in diverse sectors such as technology, resilient buildings, and commercial and residential developments, to name a few. While Martin’s recent focus has been on data centres, his experience in the industry since 1997 has led to significant milestones, including contributions to the success of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and other high-value projects.

Martin puts emphasis on efficient design processes, client satisfaction, and team collaboration; he excels as a leader in Excel design tools and with extensive years’ experience in client-facing roles. Martin is set to assist in growing the team, nurturing staff to achieve their best, and building efficiency in our internal processes.

Dorian Patrick, Associate Director, Dubai

In recent years, Dorian’s professional focus has been towards data centre design, with a particular emphasis on innovative cooling solutions and energy-efficient approaches aimed at minimising a facility’s PUE. Prior to this specialisation, Dorian devoted over four years to the Abu Dhabi Plaza project in Astana, Kazakhstan. During his tenure, he gained invaluable expertise in NFPA compliance, tall building design, and the implementation of various fire protection systems.

Dorian’s multifaceted background not only highlights his leadership abilities but also underscores his extensive technical experience. As our new Associate Director (Mechanical), stationed at our headquarters in Dubai, he brings a wealth of knowledge and innovation to our team, further enhancing our capabilities in immersive technology systems.

Amy Henderson, People Manager, UK/Europe

A member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (MCIPD), Amy has over 20 years’ experience in diverse HR roles within the pharmaceutical medical devices and science sectors. Previously, she held the position of Head of HR for Abbott Diabetes Care UK. As an experienced people manager, Amy finds a sense of achievement in nurturing the growth of others and witnessing their success.

Amy will be an integral part of our regional management team with a key focus on delivering and implementing our global people strategy at a regional level. She will support the delivery of the Black & White regional business plan from a people strategy perspective and continue to help develop the Black & White brand to become an industry-leading employer of choice.

Evan Vourdolis, Head of Lead Consulting Services, Dubai

Evan started in the data centre industry in 2003, managing the operations of a colocation facility. Since then, he has designed and constructed various data centre projects and spearheaded consulting initiatives across Europe and the Middle East. One notable project that Evan was involved in was a modular/prefabricated facility in Greece, powered by 100% green energy and cooling; where energy was delivered by a nearby hydroelectric dam, and cooling was achieved by river water and underground storage.

Evan’s innate leadership abilities have been evident in his previous roles, with many of his team members advancing to senior positions in some prominent companies within the industry. As the Head of Lead Consulting Services at Black & White, Evan is poised to strengthen our market position, enhancing services and deliverables through the leadership of multidisciplinary teams, all while maintaining Black & White as one of the best places to work.
