As the Chairman and CEO of Black & White, Mick has been operating internationally since 1997, delivering successful projects in over 40 countries. Over the course of his career, he has built several companies from ground up including Black & White, which has grown from one person to a team of over 1000 staff in 18 cities around the world.

While his experience at the board level has provided him with valuable insight into strategic direction of the companies he has worked for, he remains a hands-on leader who is involved in day-to-day delivery. He is passionate about working closely with clients to understand their needs and ensure that projects are delivered to their satisfaction.

At Black & White, he has built an amazing team around him, and together, are currently delivering complex data centres in over 40 countries. Mick believes that his success is built on a foundation of hard work, attention to detail, and a dedication to providing the highest quality of service to his clients.

Alistair serves as one of the Directors at Black & White, with a crucial role in overseeing the operations within the UAE and Middle East region.

With a Chartered Engineer qualification, Alistair’s experience in the Middle East dates back to 2007. He has spent the past decade with a strong focus on data centre delivery, alongside building and leading the technology sector team in the Middle East.

Alistair’s extensive experience in the building services industry began in 2002, where his influence has spanned an impressive spectrum of building sectors such as commercial, healthcare, laboratories and research, leisure, residential, retail, and technology and data centres.

His portfolio encompasses a diverse range of projects, including both new and existing developments and ranging from initial due diligence and test fit stages, all the way through to project handover and soft landings.

Alistair is an advocate for accurate, cost-effective, sustainable, and pragmatic design. He sets a valuable example by prioritising these principles in his approach to MEP engineering.

Barry joined Black & White in 2020 as a Director focusing on the business development in expanding target geographical locations, notably in Southeast Asia. Initially focused on supporting the growth of the technology & data centre sector, Barry looks to develop parallel business opportunities using his extensive experience in the hospitality and building performance fields.

Based in the UAE since 2018, Barry was the Head of Building Performance, which included Commissioning Management, MEP Advisory, and Innovation. He spent the previous seven years in India where he founded a new consultancy business and led the development of applying BIM to building services engineering, and handover information for projects. Barry was responsible for building his team to 100 strong over a four-year period.

He has gained substantial experience in all aspects of design and construction during his career, and his innovative thinking often leads to more efficient, cost-effective solutions in the projects he is involved in. He serves on both the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE)/Associate Member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Scientific Committee for reviewing technical papers submitted for conferences and also the Australian Institute of Refrigeration, Air-Conditioning, and Heating (AIRAH) Technical Committee for the same responsibilities, plus writing and reviewing various publications.

Barry is a passionate engineer who strives for excellence and innovation in all areas. He provides strong mentoring for his team and leads by example. He has won numerous awards and always encourages his team to expand their thinking to develop better solutions in every area of their work.
