Our engineering expertise reaches across all sectors of the construction industry, providing pragmatic and practical design solutions to ensure our projects are spatially and operationally efficient. Our design process fully considers the installation and maintenance practicalities on site.

This role will assist Senior Engineers and divisional Directors in the structural design process for new build, refurbishment, and alterations of construction projects including the space around the buildings.

Responsibilities
  • Using their specialist construction knowledge, create building designs and models which are safe and capable of withstanding the functionality requirements necessary, as well as improving the structural integrity of existing buildings
  • Follows company standards to ensure models delivered adhere to PAS 1192 and the projects’ BEP requirements
  • Applies technical knowledge in the analysis and design of various structural elements, mainly steel and composite structures
  • Prepares drawing mark-ups and sketches and ensure its implementation to models
  • Checks drawing outputs from in-house modellers as well as fabrication drawings from third-parties
  • Prepares and checks design calculations, including connections and attends coordination meetings as needed
Qualifications
  • A degree or post-graduate qualification in civil or structural engineering, accredited by the Institution of Structural Engineers, or equivalent
  • Project managing and administering contracts
  • Experience working as a Structural Engineer, preferably within the technology and data centre industry
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and mathematical skills
  • Competent in the construction process and liaising with other professional staff
  • Strong technical knowledge base
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, etc.
  • Ability to use IT-based calculation and spreadsheet software such as ETABS, SAFE, Tekla Structural Designer
  • Basic understanding of BS standards
  • Ability to prioritise own workload
  • Ability to work on deadlines
