Black & White Engineering is a multi-award-winning engineering consultancy, with nearly -750 employees in teams based in our UK, European, Middle East and Asia Pacific offices. We have been providing a wide range of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) engineering consultancy services since 2007.

Our engineering expertise reaches across all sectors of the construction industry, providing pragmatic and practical design solutions to ensure our projects are spatially and operationally efficient. Our design process fully considers the installation and maintenance practicalities on site.

Due to the continued growth and expansion of our Global Finance and Lead Design Consulting (LDC) teams, we are looking to recruit a Project Commercial Manager for our Manila office. This role will primarily support regional offices in the management and delivery of design projects across EMEA and APAC. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with regional design managers, and partners, to develop and improve our commercial and financial management of projects contributing to our goal of being one of the best lead design consultants in the data center market.

Reporting to the Global Finance team, with local line management with  Manila Lead Design Manager, this role involves managing a project’s commercial and financial requirements, developing processes and reporting to ensure consistent control of projects through the project life cycle.  Developing and maintaining reporting to forewarning of risks & opportunities, adherence to our commercial process and to support a regular and collaborative project review process with design managers. – This role is essential to support the ongoing growth of our business with robust financial and contract management expertise.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Supports the financial & commercial management of project accounts with useful and regular information & processes.
  • Ensures project commercial processes and standards are consistently applied across all projects.
  • Develops reporting and processes that support the project review process including cost monitoring & forecasting, status of subconsultant costs and delivery as well as baseline cost management.
  • Develops & supports the preparation of useful commercial and financial and projection reports for both project-specific accounts and overall client portfolio.
  • Ensures that all required contractual documents are complete, properly documented, and maintained for compliance with our Commercial Policy.
  • Assists in the acquisition and oversight of third-party consultants or sub-consultants, including outsourcing, assessment, contracting, invoicing, to final account reconciliation.
  • Developing and managing a team that can scale as the business grows globally.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in finance, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience in commercial and finance support and management in a project and contractual environment..
  • Expertise in project financial management, including budgeting, cost control, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial oversight within a business operations environment. Understanding their interplay with commercial and financial aspects to ensure operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Understanding of commercial structures, including procurement and vendor management, contract administration, risk assessment, and overall commercial and financial strategy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledgeable in Microsoft Power BI or equivalent is a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including chart generation, pivot tables, Power Pivot, automation, and other advanced functions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong command of spoken and written English.
  • Proven ability to build, maintain, and develop professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing contractual and financial documents efficiently.
  • Able to work independently while collaborating within a wider team.
  • Ability to grow and manage a team to support the business as it grows.
