As part of the Global Power Systems and Infrastructure team, this role will provide the necessary support for Hydrogeology survey expertise to complement and enhance our Mechanical, Electrical and Lead Design Management teams during Site Due Diligence or Land Acquisition activities. In addition, this role will work closely with our Civil engineering team to provide guidance during project execution. The key function of this role is to study and monitor, groundwater resources available on potential sites identified for development or acquisition.
role responsibilities
- Provide input into site due diligence for land acquisition or development
- Conduct desktop studies to evaluate flood risk, water table levels, drainage and underground contaminants
- Assess groundwater exploration results from field surveys, drilling, and aquifer testing.
- Advise on groundwater levels, flow, recharge, and discharge processes.
- Analyse groundwater quality and identify sources of contamination.
- If required, develop groundwater models to simulate flow and predict impacts of abstraction or pollution.
- If required, design and oversee remediation systems for contaminated groundwater.
- Provide input to environmental impact assessments (EIA) and regulatory compliance studies.
- Provide hydrogeological expertise to client engineering projects.
- Prepare technical reports, maps, and recommendations for decision-makers.
- Advise on sustainable groundwater management strategies and climate change resilience.
- Evaluate computer model results simulating groundwater movement
There may be requirements for site inspections and attending client meetings
