Black & White Engineering is a multi-award-winning engineering consultancy, with nearly 400 employees in teams based in our UK, European, Middle East and Asia Pacific offices. We have been providing a wide range of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) engineering consultancy services since 2007.

Our engineering expertise reaches across all sectors of the construction industry, providing pragmatic and practical design solutions to ensure our projects are spatially and operationally efficient. Our design process fully considers the installation and maintenance practicalities on site.

Our Manila operation is one of two global design hubs that support the delivery of projects across our operating regions and is a key component to our success.

 

Responsibilities

RECRUITMENT PROCESS

  • Assist and support the company hiring process by creating and preparing job descriptions, posting job ads, performing employee background check and sourcing potential candidates.

LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT

  • Develop training and development programs
  • Set up and manage the Professional Development Review process, supporting line managers and employees through the annual cycle using the global template.
  • Work in partnership with the global L&D Partner to ensure the right learning programmes are in place – delivering the people elements of inhouse learning programmes as required.
  • Coach and guide managers and team members through the PDR process.

EMPLOYEE RELATIONS

  • Assist in the development and implementation of employee engagement process and programs, HR initiatives and practices
  • Create, update, and maintain the company’s organizational structure as well as its policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that the job descriptions are comprehensive and up to date
  • Keep up to date with the latest HR trends and best practices
  • Administering the health and safety of all employees.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Overseeing and managing of employee benefits
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and guidelines regarding compensation, and benefits including compliance with government agencies

LABOUR RELATIONS

  • Ensure end to end processing of employment cases
  • Manage all documents for DOLE-related inquiries and issues
  • Process complaints and prepare necessary documentation regarding employee performance, sexual harassment, discrimination, potential termination actions or other instances and assist in any necessary investigations and disciplinary actions
  • Provide recommendations and support the management of disciplinary and grievance issues and by being a subject matter expert on labor relations in the Philippines.

HUMAN RESOURCE ADMINISTRATION

  • Ensure updated company rules and regulations and monitor implementation and compliance with company policies.
  • Drafts notices, letters, memos and the like in compliance with company policies and Philippine labor standards
  • Manage and maintain employee records (contracts, personal files, and other employee information) according to policy and legal requirements

PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

  • Assist in the performance management processes

EMPLOYEE LIFE CYCLE

  • Continuously identify and execute best practices to improve the employee life cycle and experience
  • Manage on-boarding and employee resignation and exit process
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as HR Generalist
  • Full understanding of HR functions (compensation & benefits, recruitment, training & development, employee relation, performance management etc) and best practices
  • Pragmatic HR practitioner with a strong background in HR
  • Deep understanding of Labor Code of the Philippines
  • Established, hands-on experience in a generalist HR position – ideally within an engineering organisation
  • Ability to build great relationships throughout the levels of the business unit
  • Ability to connect with local leadership teams, line managers and employees to understand and address their needs
  • Confident to work autonomously and as part of a team, to deliver under pressure, deal with ambiguity and to challenge at all levels in order to achieve the best outcome.
  • Ability to manage self and request support from the global HR team as needed.
  • Excellent communicator, both verbally and
  • Have an excellent understanding of all MS Office tools, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Have excellent attention to detail.

  • Graduate of Human Resources Management, Psychology, or any related fields.
